Name of guests/resource persons: Patience Beer; Founder and Head of the organization, Single Empowerment Network Foundation.
DISCUSSION: The guest focused her discussion on some of the gaps that are stopping young women and girls from building their self-esteem; as well as some of the reasons why young women and girls need to build their self-esteem and personal lives;
Patience Beer defined Self-esteem as the reflection of a person’s over all subjective emotional evaluation of his or her own worth.
According to her, self-esteem is how you see, value, and respects yourself as a young woman or a girl.
She therefore urged young women and girls to always believe in themselves and always have positive outlooks of themselves; regardless of their situation or circumstances.
Patience said this is the way for young women and girls to build their self-esteem.
